I had a phone interview set up by a recruiter. The interview was predominantly focused on python coding, they had no interest in what I knew about Quant Finance. Although I thought I did fine, the interviewer was quite rude in my rejection letter (though I appreciate rejection letters), and I couldn't help but think he had me mistaken for somebody else.

The standard 'Write a Fibonacci function in python" was asked. He wanted to know the difference between generators and recursive functions and to break down the algorithm into 'bit O notation.'

Entrevista
The interview, which consists of a resume drill and a live coding session, isn't inherently 'hard.' However, it requires a mastery of specific skills rarely practiced outside of HFT. Something I only fully realized after the interview was over.

Could you please walk me through your experience with latency optimization?
HR call followed by 1 hour Technical interview followed by 2 1 hour technical interviews with trader / researchers. They were light on brainteasers and standard behavioural questions. Mostly they dived into my experience and projects I wrote about on my CV.
