The first step was having a conversation with HR and the Chief Architect. They then give you a take home assignment prior to several rounds of interviews. The assignment is largely a waste of time, and it lacks details for it to deserve a proper solution. Yet, during your presentation, they dive deep into what you did and ask you to self critique it. The worst part was talking to the CTO. He didn't seem friendly at all. Everybody else was friendly. If you are in the Bay Area, look for companies that pay better. In talking to the execs, I came to realize that they are being frugal with money. This is likely to affect your annual bonus and merit increase.
