It was a group interview in an auditorium. It was also a written interview, writing down answers to questions on a sheet of paper. The hiring manager then called on various applicants to share their answer to different questions on the sheet. He tried to make sure he called on everyone to answer at least one question. Overall I liked this style of interview as I articulate myself well on paper so I think that even without any experience, being able to explain myself through writing helped me to get the job.
