Very unpleasant interview….. Documents (eg. Application form, payslip, education cert, passport size) requested by HR through email on 7:30pm and requested to submit by 9am on the next day morning. Agreed interview timing in advance, at the midnight of the interview day (12am), sent a revised timing (30minutes earlier) without seeking consent (email stated “we have moved the timing”). Luckily is a virtual interview. When the interview timing started, HR manager was there and told me the hiring manager is still stuck in the meeting and unsure what time will be end. HR cannot confirm the timing with me and asked whether im ok with the interview if it delay up to 6pm. She said we will surely complete this interview by today. We drop the line, and i waited for few hours. When 6:15pm, still no call yet. I emailed back, no responses, decided not to wait. On 7.15pm, HR call me back apologise and say that the interview will be reschedule another day. It really indicate a poor pre-interview process and hiring manager does not respect candidate time. When interview starts, very tension vibe. I answered poorly on first question. Since then, the hiring managers started to be fierce, doubting on my abilities for the position. And they seem not interested to you anymore. Keep repeat and questioning : are you sure you able to do this. I have the feeling of being disrespected, for all the subsequent questions answered (they only ask few more), hiring manager will come back and say, our co is harder, are you sure you really can do it. Keep being lectured and they wont believe all your words. I acknowledge that I did not answer one of the questions well, and it may have affected the interviewers’ confidence in my suitability for the role. However, the overall interview process and communication still felt quite discouraging from a candidate experience perspective.
