Received offer after only answering 14 behavioral questions via email. Never spoke to a single person. No technical questions but hired for a technical position? Something is fishy here. Was told that initial training would be paid at $30/hr and if hired $65/hr. Offer came as $55/hr

I received an email from a third party member stating I had been shortlisted for an interview. I was informed that I would participate in an interview via email correspondence with one of Ignite HC's partners. I've never met a recruiter that wasn't desperate to get a possible employee on the phone, so I found this suspicious. The next day I exchanged emails with the partner. In their first email they requested basic info (name, phone, location). In another they provided a screening test/interview questions google doc that asked behavioral questions primarily. Within an hour of completing the document and returning it, I was offered a position and instructed that I would receive an offer letter the following day. Additionally, they requested my name, phone number, email, and address multiple times over different emails. The next day I received the offer letter and a request for a copy of my ID. This isn't out of the ordinary, but I didn't feel comfortable providing that information without any type of authentication to whom I would be sharing the information. I expressed my discomfort and requested a phone call or zoom meeting. I have a flexible schedule, so I made it clear that we could arrange something around their schedule and wouldn't you know it. They responded with "we will cover that in the training next week". I reiterated my discomfort with providing the information and made a second request for a phone call/zoom and was ghosted. As I was suspicious of this company from the beginning, I was digging into their website, their owners, employers...anything I could find to help me verify that the company was legit. From my digging, I can determine that this is a scam that appropriates real people's identities and real companies and tries to muddy the waters enough to trick people into giving them their information. On the "meet the team" page, the company lists its partners. The partners provide a company they are associated with (e.g. John Smith, JS consulting). I would look into JS consulting and find that a website does exist, but there is no mention of the person having ever been associated with that company at all. This is especially odd when cross referencing their linkedIn profiles which were also inconsistent with the data provided by ignite hc and the individual's LinkedIn account. TL;DR: This company is a scam. Don't waste your time.
