I just sent an email to the senior fellow, and he accepted me right away on a trial basis. It was not a challenge at all, and there was no actual interview process. If you show your interest than it should not be a problem, and it might actual be helpful if they weeded more of the people out.

Very straightforward, no trick questions. Mostly the basics on your personal, academic, and professional background. You'll likely hear them ask about your experiences in formal academic writing and your teamwork abilities in the past. Draw as much as you can on previous think tank experiences.
