      Only had initial interview with recruiter who was based outside the US. They were not technical and shouldn't be in a position of gate keeping and evaluating candidates. Its insulting to worker's time to keep dealing with these HR people who know nothing about what they are looking for just to pass on the same info to a hiring manager. They can't answer any of your questions, either. Another red flag is they mentioned part of their interview process involved a case study with several days to complete. Get out of here with this non-sense. We aren't out here working for free, learn to evaluate people and invest in them as human beings. It takes less effort to apply and enter graduate school than some of the arcane interview processes tech companies are coming up with, its embarassing.

      Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we appreciate your feedback. The first interview with the recruitment specialist is an important part of our recruitment process. The main goal is to ensure that the candidates meeting the hiring manager are going to be a good fit for the company. Each company is different and is guided by a set of values and beliefs, and we want to make sure the candidates we recommend further in the process will share our values. The recruiter screening is a common practice across all industries. HiveMQ is no longer in the early stages of a start-up, so we have a process in place that our entire team follows that for technical roles also includes a case where we are testing for specific skills.       I applied online. The recruiter scheduled an initial screening interview which went pretty good. The recruiter was very nice and polite. Then I had second round interview with Hiring Manager. The interview was easy and I crushed it. It was typical behavioral STAR method interview questions. Whenever I was answering the questions, I can clearly see he was busy with something else and not paying attention what I was saying which kinda put me off guard. There were some questions he asked which I find not relevant with the ability of performing your job and those questions people will mark as red flag from DEI stand point. I would suggest to carefully evaluate their culture before accepting the offer.
