I was contacted via e-mail next day after submitting my application draft (I thought it was pretty unprofessional because I did not submit my application but left a draft in the system so that I could go back to it later). I was asked if I have a contract with university. After I gave positive answer, in approx 2 weeks I got a call asking to come in for an interview. Since I had to travel for the interview to another country, I was advised I will be reimbursed 50% of the travel price so I thought it's fair. However, they never reimbursed anything. The whole interview was pretty easy. I was interviewed by communications manager. There was also current intern present in the interview so that I could ask questions about the internship. The worst part that I did not get any feedback why I was not selected. They just sent a regular standard rejection e-mail. After I asked for more feedback (I felt entitled to that because I had to take a day off from university, travel to another country and pay for it myself), I was told by HR person that I "simply do not fit the general requirement of the manager and she is already on maternity leave so I will not bother her".
