Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Groupon (Chicago, IL) en ene 2014
Entrevista
I reached out to a recruiter via e-mail who passed my information along to a sales division recruiter. The same day that new recruiter contacted me and asked to set something up for a few days later. We spoke on the phone promptly at the time she said she would call. We spoke for 30 minutes regarding my background. How would my service industry experience be a fit for the role? Why Groupon? Why sales? She then discussed the position in depth, and asked me to come later in the week to interview. I showed up to the interview early (practiced my pitch to myself) and was greeted by my recruiter exactly when she set up the interview time. She showed me around the office then took me to a conference room and told me I would be meeting with three people, who they were, and their titles. First interview went really well. She liked my background and I discussed why I would be perfect for the role because of it. Second interview was incredibly informal and laid back. I loved that. He was honest and up front about the way things are and wanted me to ask honest questions as well. At this point I was not nervous at all. They made me feel comfortable and were not trying to catch me off guard (also I studied up on EVERYTHING so that also helped with my nerves). The third interview was a bit more intense. He was still incredibly personable. He worked his way up and knows what he is doing and what kind of person he is looking for.
Overall, my experience with all three was great. I could not imagine it going any better. I was a bit shocked that I was not asked to do a mock sales pitch as I was ready to kill it. I interviewed on a Friday, was told I would hear back by the middle of the following week. I did not hear anything so I assumed they were “moving forward with other candidates”. Totally bummed. The next day I was contacted by my recruiter saying they were still in the process of deciding, later that day I was called and offered the position.
Study up so that you can relax your nerves and be yourself. They truly want your personality and your skills. I am a nervous interviewer and was not nervous in the least bit. It also helped that my people were incredibly relaxed and welcoming.
I appreciated the promptness of my recruiter and the fact that I was updated through the process. They don’t have to do that, and MANY don’t. So I was incredibly grateful for that. There is nothing worse than waiting to hear back from a place you actually want to work for.

HR told me to come "dressed professionally" all the managers had shorts, T-shirts and sandals on. Dressing Professionally means something entirely different to folks at Groupon!

Shocking bad questions for such a large organization with huge HR staff. Typical questions-how did you over come adversity. Its hard to take any manager seriously in shorts and a old t-shirt

4 week process
I applied online through an employer referral. I was contacted the same day I applied and was asked if I would be interested in an over the phone interview. That phone interview happened one week after the initial email and was a very brief, they just asked me about previous work experience and explained the job and benefits of the job to me. It lasted about 20 minutes. Right from the phone interview they asked if I could come in for an in person interview.
I interviewed in person 2 weeks later. The interview consisted of two 30 minute interviews with a 30 minute job shadowing segment in between the interviews. The questions they asked were basic behavioral questions and my interviewers were very polite and created a non threatening environment.
