I have submitted resumes to Groupon twice. Once for an operations role that was cancelled the day of because they no longer wished to recruit for that role. The second time, I applied as a vertical e-commerce business lead. I was given a phone screen because they were offering much less than I was making, but I told them it was fine since I was coming into a new industry. The recruiter then set up another phone interview with the head of the department. She seemed very energetic, pleasant and intelligent. We spoke about how my job responsibilities would make me a successful candidate for the position. We parted ways and I was told I would hear back soon. It's not August and, even after writing once, I have never heard from them again. I would really have liked to receive feedback as to whether it was experience, or they just found someone with a better personality to fit, but I will never know because no one ever contacted me. I even had an employee referral, so you would think that they would have told me they weren't interested.
