I went through a 4 step process that sounds a little bit daunting but the team tries to make the experience a positive one; everyone was super responsive, polite and kept me informed of all the next steps at all times. What definitely helped is that GitLab is a very transparent company so if you did your homework, you could find a lot of information online that could help you prepare for different stages of the interview.

got contacted by the recruiter for a job that wasn't available on the website and other job board. got the interview with the hiring manager, even if they announced layoffs for the beginning of June
