Applied on their website, got a response back a few weeks later. After multiple rounds of interviews I presumed went well, was ghosted after putting several hours into a take-home assignment.

What is your approach when working directly with engineers to build out a feature?
Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en GitHub en ene 2018

My best experience on design interviews so far because :
1) They relied on remote interviews which save you a lot of time and effort.
2) They also care about you as an individual. The designers gave me a ton of advice on my design challenge and I love chatting with them so much. They encouraged my ideas. They empathized with me.
3) They care about diversity. I had a diversity interview with them which was quite uncommon. But I appreciate their effort.
Interview Process:
First 1 hr phone screening. Then a mini design challenge which takes no more than 5 hours. Followed by a 3-hour video interview which included 30-minute portfolio walkthrough and two 45-minute interviews with designers at Github. Finally, a diversity interview with their program manager talking about your understanding of diversity based on your personal experience.

Tell me about your thought process on the design challenge
Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 4 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en GitHub (Berlín) en dic 2021

Normal phone screening, portfolio review, cross functional interview and finally design challenge. The position was for Europe.
The last step, the design challenge, was with a team
of 2 (PMs) in US.
They were not super accommodating with the time and I had to do it at 10:00pm/22:00 my time which was not so great since it’s a 1/2h exercise that requieres been focused and sharped and I was really tired at that hour of the day.
I failed at the design challenge. There were some tricky questions I got blocked at, for example“what would you do to offer a solution if you had no team?”
which I answer something like “make a pitch to leadership so I could get some resources”, “find out why I wasn’t assigned with any resources and make sure the scope was well understood” but the answer they were expecting to hear was more on the line of using tweeter as a communication channel.
When I got the mail from TA saying they have decided to not make any offer I asked very politely and professionally if I could get some feedback to improve for next time and if I could reapply in the future after some period.
Both where negative, they said they couldn’t provide feedback to interviewers for some law regulation in place and that reapply was not recommended.
I really liked the company but I guess it was a one shot try and I missed

what would you do to offer a solution if you had no team?
Foi maravilhoso! Muitas pessoas incluidas, e muito informativo.
Quais são seus metodos para resolver uma problema lean e rapido? Uma boa pergunta eu acho… O processo foi intenso, mas eu gostei muito
