I went through 4 interviews + a week-long take-home project but was informed at the end of the process that the company is placing a hold (i.e., hiring freeze) on several roles until Q4.
I left a neutral review because I enjoyed my time with all the interviewers, but I felt blindsided by the seemingly sudden decision to place a hold on the position I was interviewing for ~2 weeks.
Breakdown of interview process:
1. Recruiter phone screen
2. (Culture) - Engineering Director
3. Take-home Web Scraping project
4. (Technical) - SWE II + Lead Engineer
5. (Behavioral) - SWE + SWE II

I met with a recruiter, then with the team. Did a coding assignment, had a review call with management after submission.
The process was straightforward, they told me exactly what all it would entail. Everyone was very friendly and it was one of the more relaxing processes I’ve experienced. They focused on the work produced.

First was a simple HR phone call with basic questions about the company. Then a video call with more technical questions related to web scraping.
I did not see how negative the reviews for this companies interviews were beforehand as I like going into them with a clear mind.
I was given a web scraping assignment. I did it a few days later and it solved the problems that they gave me. I submitted it a few days before the deadline and 2 weeks later after I emailed asking for feedback I got an auto rejection email. The program did exactly what they wanted and the best they could give was an automated email. I think they just wanted someone to make them that program for free. Please save yourself some time and don't apply to them.
