Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 4 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Federal Highway Administration (Washington, DC) en oct 2013
Entrevista
Received a telephone call from the team leader and had a brief, 20-min discussion that established mutual interest and compatibility and during which we scheduled an in-house interview. Interview was held at the office in which the position was located, panel consisted of Team Leader, Office Director, and two other team members. Was a fairly open discussion that covered the mission of the office, the expectations for the position, and my experience. In federal hiring being a prospect "mid-career hire" is seen as a bit of a special thing, so much of the discussion was clearly getting at the application of my private-sector experience with a government position. One of the team members had prior experience with one of the more challenging clients from my consulting days so it was nice to have that connection and probably gave them some faith that I'd be able to weather any rough patches.

Federal employment provides the opportunity for individuals to pursue their own initiatives, and such things are typically supported within the scope of the program / office. One of the questions was "What would you do if there is an initiative you would like to pursue and your efforts are declined?"
