Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en FPT Software (Bangkok)

      Entrevista

I had a very negative interview experience with the management team of this company, which struck me as unprofessional and disorganized. The interview format included two HR representatives and one interviewer from the management level on the same call. At the start of the interview, the manager asked me general questions like “What is this?” and “What is that?” without a clear understanding of why they were asking or whether these questions were even relevant to the job. It felt like they were reading from a predetermined question sheet. Examples included: “What is Node.js?” or “What is React?”—basic questions you’d expect on an exam or from a prepared list. The conversation was completely one-sided. They kept asking me question after question until the total reached 30 or more. At times, I couldn’t recall the textbook definition of a term, and the interviewer would answer for me. I tried to shift the conversation into something more engaging and meaningful by challenging them and asking for clarification to create a real dialogue instead of just reciting answers. However, this seemed to frustrate the manager. He became increasingly dismissive and even insulted me, saying things like, “From my perspective, you can’t even answer these basic questions,” referring to their superficial exam-like queries. Toward the end of the call, he used his authority, saying to the HR representatives, “When this call ends, stay with me.” Throughout this, the two HR representatives on the call didn’t intervene, likely because the interviewer held a management or director-level position, and they felt powerless to step in. After the interview, the HR team sent me an email apologizing for what had happened and explaining that these types of questions were considered standard. While I appreciated their professionalism in acknowledging the issue and apologizing, it didn’t change my perspective on the situation. They later offered me a follow-up interview with the actual team lead (who wasn’t available on the initial call), but I declined. If even one individual at the management level behaves unprofessionally and uses their power to belittle others, I would never consider working for this company, regardless of the offer. P.S. I also spoke to a friend who had a similar interview experience with the same company and the same manager. My friend agreed that this individual was unpleasant to work with and also rejected the offer.
