First a person from Recruiting contacts you and holds a 30 minutes interview. Then you meet for 45 minutes with the hiring manager. If he/she decides to move you forward, you're invited to a round of 5-6 45 minutes/each interviews with different team members

Spoke with a recruiter via phone for 20 minutes sharing my experience and why I was interested in the role and Expedia. I advanced to the next round which was a 45 interview with the hiring manager.

The process was straight forward and managed w/o a flaw. The recruitment team did an outstanding job at making it as seamless as possible and had top notch customer service. However, the onsite interviews with several of the folks selected to interview me were terrible. None of them were prepared in advance, came into interview and reviewed my resume for the first time, made it seem like the interview was a disruption to their day and just something they had to do instead of being invested in finding the perfect fit for their team and organization .. two folks told me they werent sure why they were chosen to interview me bc they have no idea what the role is all about, they're developers and only interview developers. They asked very technical development and test type questions that have no significance to the job description/role, then badgered me to explain in more depth and kept asking the same questions over and over making it feel like an interrogation where I got nervous and very uncomfortable . 1 interviewer was focusing on a role i held over 15 years ago, expecting me to remember all the very specialized technical details of this role, that again had nothing to do with the job I was interviewing for. When I was able to recall most of the details and provided a 'satisfactory' answer, the interviewer stated "oh, i guess you do know what your talking about" in a joking way, as if his interrogation tactic was funny. That was it for me.. They were on strike 3 at that point w/ me.
This company/team/role were my #1 out of 5 I was considering and in the final interview stage with. After the interviews, I no longer want to work with their team if this is how they conduct themselves around their candidates. I was disappointed to say the least. But grateful I had the opportunity to meet these potential co-workers before I accepted the role!
