Entrevista
Very strange interview.
The chap questioning me had a kind of aggressive/gotcha and unfriendly style and seemed like he just wanted to prove he was right in front of everyone in his office... It was 15 minutes and I kept waiting for him to get past the pretty boring googled trick questions and get to relevant ones, but it never did. After 15 minutes and a sip of my coffee he pretty much asked me to leave.
To be fair i think they didn't have as much time to prepare as they wanted, but I saw on the guys screen that he had just searched 'hard javascript problems' on Google... Then progressed to ask me front end javascript questions from stack overflow. Which is fine... but i'm primarily a back end developer... For anyone who isn't a developer, they are really different things. We didn't even talk about back end development.
Either way, I've never done one of these surveys before but I left feeling so confused as to why they invited me in to begin with if they were going to asking me aggressive brainteasers and gotcha questions as opposed to... you know... my job and my skill set... I expect a few trick questions... but sandwiched between sensible development related questions.
I saw the other review of the company and thought this may be just one disgruntled employee but yeah... The guy/gal may be onto something... (though I never talked more then a sentence to the COO, so cant comment on him, he seemed charming enough from the 30 seconds)
I really try and give people the benefit of the doubt, maybe he had a tough day, your mileage may vary, but mine was by far the most confusing and professionally insulting interviews i've had.
On the upside, that sip of coffee was decent...
