Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Epic (Madison, WI) en abr 2012

      Entrevista

Invited to do the Personality profile online first, then after a couple of days I was emailed by an HR type that would guide me through the process, she set up a phone screen. I use the word screen because although they said it was a phone interview with one of the other PM's, it was actually a different HR person who asked me to "talk through my resume" and she asked for dates/scores/job descriptions that were all listed on the resume in the same exact verbiage that they were already listed in (odd to say the least). Then a couple standard phone interview questions: why epic, have to move to Madison, where do you see yourself in 5 years? etc etc. She said she would share my responses with a few of the PM/IC's and I would be contacted to go further in the process. I was then invited a couple days later to go to a testing site and take a logic exam and a programming exam. I contacted them and said I have ZERO programming experience and asked how much programming was a part of the job (wasn't on job description)—they said none directly, but its important have a minor understanding so you can work with the developers. The test did ask directly if I had any programming experience. HR lady also said, it would not count against me. Anyways, I did good on the logic test because of GMAT practice, but the software programming was a pain in the a** and Im sure I didn't answer a lot of those correctly because it was in a language I had no understanding about whatsoever. Go figure they email me back a week later and said thanks but I wasn't being considered for the position anymore. Kind of Cult like vibe when I talked to them about moving to Madison, (wife was against reloc. anyways). Seems kind of hard to build sales rapport without having people based in territories but who knows, that might change for them when they start going after medium sized fish for business. They're still catering to the Kaiser's of the world. TO sum it up: A much more intensive interview process, with much less personalization or 1:1 focus. Felt very much like a fresh out of college, huge corporate filtration hiring selection. And, the Logic puzzles gave me a headache after 45 minutes.

Glassdoor had very accurate description of the whole process. I did resume drop, did the online assessment, then got scheduled for a role introduction session where you listen to the person who currently has the job to describe what they do. Afterwards, there's the superday online where you will do a 10-min presentation on any topic you like and case study with peers, then behaviors. Overall a pretty smooth and enjoyable experience.

I sent in my application and received an email from HR two days later asking if I agreed on thee salary. First process is you get a role intro, then an assessment test which is like 4 hours. They heavily rely on your test scores and are confirming that you’re a relatively normal and capable person before they offer you the job.

Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Epic en ago 2022

      Entrevista

I was contacted on LinkedIn by a person from epic who encouraged me to apply for project manager role, sent me a link, I’m guessing I was scouted because on my profile I was #openforwork And I had some EHR software implementation experience in healthcare in my work history. (About 6 months worth). I filled out the project manager application online, I scheduled a time to watch the role introduction (just a zoom live seminar with some info on the role) and take the assessments. I did send the recruiter Just a question before my assessments asking for how much the role paid, like a salary range even, he replied with a non-answer saying that it is different for every candidate and once they have more information on my background, we can talk about salary. That was kind of annoying, seeing as they were asking me to sign up for a 3 to 4 hour test for a role that I wasn’t even sure if it would be worth it, especially since moving to Wisconsin was part of the requirements. My last job was remote and I was mostly looking for remote roles. I studied a bit, looked up some logic questions or questions from the assessment (didn’t find much but a few practice questions online that folks said were from epic hiring tests) I took the assessment and I think I did pretty accurately but I used most of the available time, so speed was not something I felt I really competed on. After a few days I got an email saying that they were not going to move forward with me as a candidate. Seemed like a cool job but I was relieved honestly. It seems like a role for folks fresh out of college where you give your life to the company and they work you to the bone. I’m later in my life and career I don’t really have the energy for all that.

A man walks into a hardware store and asks the shopkeeper for the price of an item. “They’re $1 each” “Ok. Give me 600.” “That’ll be $3” What did he buy?
