I applied for a completely different position and received a call to apply for the liaison position. I went on the first interview, which consisted of Star-type questions, then generic work history, and skills questions by an RN and a therapist. The RN and therapist were both professional and inviting.
A few hours after I left a recruiter called me and asked me to schedule an interview for my application. I advised that I just had one that same day and asked if it was for the initial position that I applied for, she said no, that position closed and she was interviewing for a floor nurse. When I advised her that I will pass on the nursing but am waiting for the position I interviewed for, she stated "good luck with that".
A few days later, I was called back to have a job shadowing scheduled with the liaison supervisor. I went, asked questions, took notes on the workflow, and was already understanding the role, some procedures, and the software navigation by the end.
Despite not receiving an offer, the time spent shadowing was educational and I made the most of it.
