5 stages and very unique. It started with an aptitude test, then a simulated real-world situation and discussion with a person role-playing as as stakeholder. From there, a presentation and final interview. This sequence was laid out clearly in the application and throughout the interview process.

My interview experience began with an unusually long and thorough chat with an internal recruiter who asked excellent questions and explained the hiring process. The next step was an aptitude test with questions that felt relevant to the role and less like the IQ-style tests I'd taken with other companies. Then there were two rounds of simulated project work with Emergent folks playing the part of the client. Peppered throughout the process were lots of technical questions that helped gauge my level of knowledge. This was a difficult interview process but it was also a lot of fun and gave me ample room to demonstrate my skills and my style. At the end, I felt that Emergent really understood what I would bring to the team and how I would contribute to the company culture.
