It was by the worst experience of my life! I was asked to come in for a short interview,as they were impressed with my cv. I was then asked to come for a day of observing how the company works. They mentioned to dress professionally as we will attend a marketing"event". I met my superviser for the day,who did not answer my question of"what does the event consist of?". He told me He will explain it later and I was given a form to sign that the day was voluntary and that I accept to do it. I got to the"event place", which was the middle of the street. I stood for 9 hours on a bench, observing the people try and sale internet packages. They asked me to write a full business plan in one hour, when I could barely write as my hands were frozen(I was dressed professionally, there were 8 degrees Celsius outside). Furthermore, they also requested a cover letter written on the spot, after many hours spent on the street in the cold. The entire day was very long and if the tasks were made under the form of an interview,it would have probably taken 30 min. I was told that when I go back to the office(6 pm) I will have another interview. I refused to attend, as I felt fooled by the wntire process. Marketing assistant is not sales agent, the superviser could not tell me even one more customer they are working with. They were just promising a lot of money to justify 72 hours of work per week, just to later tell me it is comission only. It was a waste of my time! If I knew from the beginning of the day( which they did not want to reveal) I would have left right away.
