Initial communications began between myself and the founder of the company, a former professor at a university in Doha, Qatar. As a recent college graduate, I initiated contact having heard about the professor's plans to begin the 2nd of what has since been 4 startups. Having a background in education and Arabic, our conversation centered around the basic human roles needed of the startup team and what I could bring to the table. After early discussions with the CEO I had two skype interviews with the director of the leading mathematics curricula brand (it was an academic services firm), one in Arabic and another in English, and was hiring following the second interview.
