      Entrevista para Product Manager

Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en EdgeWave (San Diego, CA) en may 2011

      Entrevista

      1. Was contacted by Director of PM regarding the position and had initial phone screening interview. 2. Scheduled an in person 1:1 interview with him the following week. Arrived for that interview which was 4 hours in length and a lunch. Was told it was between two final candidates who would be called back in the following week for interviews with critical team members. 3. Got the call back and interviewed with several additional team members. Felt good following this interview round and was told a decision would be made shortly, unfortunately the CEO was not able to attend an interview that day so..... At this time I was informed by my references that they had been contacted and some kept on phone for 10 min. or more, personally I wouldn't call a reference until an offer was being considered. 4.Was asked to come back a third time, now interview total in excess of 8 hours. Was told following that interview that a decision would be made by end of week. In interview with the CEO I even pointed out the product in their portfolio that should be re-evaluated for it's strategic alignment and was told that they had made the decision to kill it the day prior (How many candidates can do that?) EOW came and went, the following Wednesday I bugged HR about a decision and was told that they had re-evaluated their candidate criteria and were now looking for a more senior level PM who could replace Director of PM in near future. Which I feel I could have done. The following week the exact same job posting was again being advertised. Had they made me an offer I would have refused after my third interview and their inability to make a decision. Let's face it as a PM your goal is to get others to act in a timely manner to take strategic advantage of opportunities. Edgewave (formerly St. Bernard's Software) gets a failing grade both on decision making and on interviewing. After all my time off work, and three on site interviews I didn't so much as get a formal letter or a telephone call from the hiring manager explaining what happened, even though he promised one should I not get the position during the final interview. My recommendation is to stay away from any company with a $.25 stock price and is afraid to make decisions.
