The first round was a design round. The person seemed involved in the beginning while explaining the question but later when I started telling him the solution (DB design along with class structure and caching) he posed minimal questions and an hour later I received a rejection email. I do not know whether he was looking for a specific solution. And I hope he knows that design rounds are supposed to be a discussion rather than pondering over a pre-judged solution.
