      Entrevista

Applied online and was contacted by a recruiter for a 30 minute call. I want to contradict a good majority of the Glassdoor reviews on here by saying this was quite simply the best interaction I've had a with a recruiter. She always updated me on time, was clear with expectations, and was very easy to speak to overall. After passing the recruiter screen I was sent a CSV file to create a business presentation out of. The goal of this data is to essentially create business recommendations, but it's fairly simplistic in nature and given the timeline (1 day) I think they're simply looking for someone who can interpret information and give some quick insights. After this I was scheduled to have 2 case study interviews over video conferencing. Both the interviewers were on the S&O team and were extremely friendly and easy to talk to. They both told me to treat the case as an informal conversation that they were using to gauge the way I think about business problems. They were both very enthusiastic and I thought our conversations went very well. I was brought on for a final round in the Chicago office where I was scheduled to meet with an associate, the GM of the office, and another case study with a member of the S&O team. I spoke with the associate for 30 minutes and while a few years younger than me and fairly new to the company he was very articulate and extremely intelligent about the business. After this I spoke to the GM for 45 minutes just talking about my background and the company vision and direction and how they've grown. I think the final case study was likely my demise, but I'm still slightly confused on why the format of what they're looking for on case studies would change so drastically. The interviewee in this case was the only member of the entire interview process that didn't ask or want to know a single part of my background. He dove right into the interview and due to how previous case interviews had been I guess I was a little bit taken back by this (maybe it was the classic good cop-bad cop tactic). I missed some extremely easy criteria to look at when analyzing (Dasher supply), and I think this overall might've been the primary reason another candidate was picked over me. The recruiter was as always punctual with updating me and told me that they had made a tough decision to move on with a candidate with more industry experience and also gave me the feedback that they were looking for more structured responses in the case interviews. I'm not sure this is just generic feedback for the sake of feedback, but the majority of folks came from completely different industries and right from the get go I was told to treat the case studies as a strategic thinking conversation, not a structured step by step Q & A. I grew up playing chess at a nationally competitive level, structured thinking is one of my biggest strengths. I was still considering how the video case studies were went and didn't expect a drastic change for the last one. I can't say I wasn't disappointed - I genuinely enjoyed speaking to all of the folks there (even the last case interview stuck around to answer my questions although seeming genuinely disinterested in having to actually do it). Overall I think DoorDash is a great company and I think based on their quality of talent and how they go about their business they will continue to be a major competitor in this space. My one criticism will obviously be a little more transparency on the objectives of an interview, especially if it's going to have variably different expectations.

      Pregunta 1

Most of the questions revolve around the 3 components of their business (Merchant, Dasher, Consumer). If you devote some time to thinking about different problems that can arise in each of these verticals as well as in the overlapping process you should be able to be successful.

First a screening call with HR, then a take home analytical test, followed by two virtual panel interview rounds with 2-3 people each round. Some of the interviews were behavioral and some were analytical.

Had a recent interview process that started off fine but ended up feeling like a waste of time. The initial phone screen with the recruiter was positive (straightforward, professional, and gave me a good sense of the role). But the hiring manager interview was… odd. They gave a quick rundown of the position, asked me one question (“tell me about your background”), and that was pretty much it. No real follow-up, no questions about my relevant experience, and no opportunity to actually talk about what I could bring to the role. It didn’t feel like a real interview - more like a box they had to check. So I wasn’t surprised to hear I wasn’t moving forward. Just disappointed that there wasn’t any meaningful conversation or engagement. Felt like a missed opportunity all around.
