They asked for my salary pretension and then began the low balling saying things like "you don't have a cloud certificate so we can't pay that", "you don't have enough experience in technology X that we need". Then after making me feel like trash, the recruiter started asking what was the minimum salary I was willing to accept, she asked if I would agree to receive payment off the book (made up expenses like transport, savings etc). They should know asking illegal questions are a big red flag and only people desperate is going to accept that.
