A simple assessment, followed by an interview with HR. I didn't get to the next step wich was an interview with the hiring manager.
During the HR interview, there were many questions about my background, writing process, and how I handle difficult clients or changing requirements. The role was described as a contractor position with no PTO or benefits, explained as part of the contract modality.
The work environment was described as highly client-driven, with frequent back-and-forth and evolving requirements that could impact scope and priorities. It was also mentioned that the hiring manager is very detail-oriented, and that the next step would involve a detailed portfolio review with very specific questions.
The meeting itself was friendly and professional, and I appreciated that conditions were communicated clearly upfront. However, based on the expectations described, the role may be better suited for candidates comfortable with a fast-changing, client-focused environment.
