I had an initial interview, then a task stage which took several hours and then a final interview in the Malta office. Overall, the 1st interview went well and the team was welcoming. The task stage I felt was a bit long and not very relevant to the role, overall asking general situation questions about myself and my characteristic traits. The final interview took place in their office and was not very pleasant. During the interview, the topic of my nationality came up and I was asked how I plan to remain calm in stressful situations, as my nationality (Irish) is quite a 'hot-headed' nationality. I was also quite young at the time, however I had the experience required in the job description, yet I was asked about my age and maturity levels. I was shocked at the time, as I never thought my nationality or age would be questioned during an interview or that I may not get a job based on these factors. Overall, it was a poor interview, especially given that I was applying to work within a HR team, and I was disappointed that discrimination is still an ongoing issue during recruitment processes.
