Basic quantitative questions and logic games. I was asked to calculate the expected number of turns it would take for a random walk around a square to return to its original position after one turn. It was largely informal but stressed logical thinking under pressure. Interview lasted about forty five minutes.

The most difficult question was detailed previously. There is a random walker (moves one way with one half probability and the other way with one half probability) on the four corners of a square who can only travel to adjacent corners. One turn passes. What is the expected number of turns it takes to return back to the original corner?
