Referred by a current employee. Had a phone screen with a recruiter, first round via phone, and then an onsite. In total the process took ~3-4 weeks. During the onsite my interviewers were from PM, Eng, and data science teams

I was contacted by a recruiter to interview for a product manager position. After a week, I was told I have been selected for the next level interview with another product manager.
That was a 30 min phone call. Unfortunately, I got rejected after that round. I am pretty stumped because the interview went really good. The questions were product management focussed nothing out of the box. The person who interviewed me was also nice on the call. The only thing I realized after the call was me being a little overqualified but I am not sure what it really was on their end..
The thing that I didn't like was a generic automated email for rejection after a week of the interview. They could have been more explicit about why they rejected me; was it the fit, role or something else. When I followed up with the recruiter, he didn't have anything to say...
Overall, the experience was positive. I just expect some of these newer companies to be more open an explicit on rejection as it helps the candidate.

Internal recruiter contacted me via Linkedin. Provided job req on Greenhouse. Scheduled a quick call for a specified time. When I called, went to vm. After another try, I reached back out to the recruiter via LinkedIn. No response. After waiting 25 minutes, no update or info.
I generally give internal recruiters the benefit of working inhouse to be more on top, but poor experiences like this impacts product hiring.
