      Position found on an internet job board. Applied through the Dish Network careers website. Two days later I received an email from a recruiter to schedule a screening interview. That interview took place the next day. The interviewer was polite, professional and asked ordinary interview-type questions. He explained their interview process, the position duties and expectations, asked about my experience and skills. Then he said he would email me an assessment that I was to complete to be considered for further interviews. He explained that it would take about 75 minutes to complete the assessment, and that the questions would be similar to taking the ACT or SAT, with math, grammar, language and other sections. I received the assessment shortly after the screening interview and took it the next day. I sent an email back to the recruiter to let him know that I had completed the assessment. A few days later I received an email stating that they were considering other candidates. I believe the recruiter sent me the wrong assessment. There were some math questions, but most of the assessment consisted of IT-type questions such as identifying internet symbols (RSS feed and the like,) programs used to edit videos on social media websites, how to identify and interpret HTML code and other such techy-type questions. At no time during the interview did the recruiter mention anything about, or question me about my knowledge of such things. Overall, the interview itself was professional and fast. I was quite puzzled by the assessment. The reason for the poor rating given to the interview process is because of the assessment I was given. I'm sure I failed it because that isn't my area of expertise. Training is, and that is what we discussed in the interview. There was no mention at any time that this was a position that required knowledge of social media, video editing or any other such work.
