I was called for an in-person interview for a Frontend Developer position, but the interview had nothing to do with frontend development. Instead, they asked about Photoshop, Illustrator, and UI/UX design, which were not part of the job description and not my role as a frontend developer.
It was clear from my resume that I’m not a designer, so I should not have been shortlisted in the first place. Only 2–3 irrelevant questions were asked, and not a single question related to frontend development.
This was a complete waste of time

I applied for a Frontend Developer position posted on Indeed, where the requirements clearly mentioned only HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
However, during the interview, the focus was primarily on data structures and algorithm-based questions, which were never mentioned in the job description.
While I understand the importance of testing problem-solving skills, the hiring process should align with the skills listed in the job posting. This mismatch not only wastes candidates’ time but also creates confusion about what the company is actually looking for.
If the role requires strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms, that should be clearly stated in the job description so applicants can prepare accordingly. Transparency in job postings goes a long way in building trust with potential candidates.
