El proceso tomó 8 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Custom Wealth Management (Syracuse, NY)

      Entrevista

They have a strange situation going on. Essentially, they all work for one guy who manages money for very wealthy people. They are a subsidiary of Sagemark Consulting and Lincoln Financial. Started with an in-person interview at their office with two members of the staff. They were friendly enough, although they seemed to be a bit brainwashed by the head of the company John Enright. The first interview was basic and consisted of classic interview questions it appeared they had printed off the internet. Second interview was a practical application testing if you have basic knowledge using excel, office, and the internet in general, as well as an awkward customer role playing exercise. They give this to all prospective employees. My impression was that they had a bad experience with a former employee they hired so they had to create this test. You should have no trouble with it if you were born after 1985 and have an IQ over 100. Third interview was with the CEO John Enright. He seemed competent, albeit very pompous. Within 2 minutes, he had already told me that he "pulls down well over 7 figures" and "pinches himself every day to see if his life is a dream." He asked me my greatest weaknesses and pretty much just wanted to talk to me in person. Got a weird vibe from him. Clearly a successful man, but is well aware, seemed too concerned about appearing laid back and casual. I was offered the position at the end of the interview and was told that I would be receiving an email with the offer details within a week. Three weeks later, I emailed John, to which he responded that the position had been filled. Honestly, I wasn't upset, because I had two other offers in NYC and was just hoping to leverage his offer for more money, but this is a pretty slimy thing to do. My honest impressions: if you are looking for a company through which you can grow, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a small job and are content with a quiet, average life, I think there are worse offices to work for. However, I would watch out for John, as he has proved not to be of the highest integrity.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

What are your three greatest weaknesses? What are your core competencies? Did you do anything to prepare for this interview? What kind of salary are you looking for? Why a career in finance? Where else are you applying? How soon would you be available to start? Tell me a little bit about yourself. Tell us about a time when you had to deal with an incompetent team member.
