The co-founder taking the interview joined the video call 15 minutes late, he didn't even apologise for being late. The questions were straightforward and the general interview went well, The interviewer's body language was positive until he asked the salary question. As soon as I answered the question with the salary range I was looking for (market rate for CMO's with over 15 years exp), I saw the instant reaction, the co-founder sat back in his seat and with a surprised impression on his face, at that moment I knew this is not going anywhere. Anyway after the interview, I sent a thank you note via LinkedIn, to which I had no response and now its been nearly 3 months I've not heard from him. They have hired someone junior in Pakistan, which says to me they had no intention to hire CMO in the first place, it was a complete waste of my time.
