18/01/11 - I mentioned my interest to work for Crossword Bookstores to a friend who sent a reference for me to their Sr. Manager. - I met the Sr. Manager for more than an hour and the interview went exceptionally great. I told them i am not from the Retails background but I am a self motivated person, an author and I am very much interested to learn. I told her my CTC and also offered to work for lesser salary as i was looking for a career change. - Her response was that the Retail Industry of Books needs people like me who are passionate about reading. Four months later - 05/04/11 - After writing the Sr. manager a couple of emails with absolutely no reply, I had given up all the hopes. - The HR writes to me after four months saying they have found a job opportunity for me. - The HR interviews me for another hour and a half and once again, the interview goes exceptionally well. I emphasis on the fact that I am willing to learn and take risks. - Once again, no reply for several months The conclusion The friend calls me and tells me that they didnt want to hire me because i am an Author and it contradicts with their policies. Till today, I have received no formal reply from them.
