Applied online and a recruiter based in Buenos Aires reached out to me. The recruiter was kind, intelligent and responsive, and I had a great meeting with her. She advanced me to the next round to meet the new COO who had been hired within the past three months. In general, the COO seemed very stressed out and disinterested from the onset, although I did my best and thought it had gone well afterwards. Unfortunately, I was not passed through to the final round meeting with the CEO. I find it irksome I was blocked off from the chance to meet with the actual company founder — who I’d imagine is a better assessor of talent — by someone very new to the company. Looking back on that meeting, there may have been a prejudicial, cultural and/or language barrier (on his end). I am certain he will hire someone Caucasian and female.
