I met a recruiter at a career fair and our conversation only consisted of a few sentences, but I left my resume with him. So, I was fairly surprised when he e-mailed me asking for an in-person interview with the hiring manager for a Project Management position. I was interested so I went, expecting a fairly short interview. The interview itself was short (maybe 10 minutes or so), and the hiring manager told me about the position but didn't ask me a single thing about myself. I was told I didn't need to fill out an application (though the receptionist seemed confused by this), but that I had to take an aptitude/personality test. I said ok since I was, after all, interested in the position. What I expected to be a quick test ended up being 4 separate tests, with over 300-400 total questions, which I had to take on a computer in the company's....utility room? Though I only spoke with the manager for about 10 minutes, and she took me for a short 5-10 minute tour of the place before showing me out after the test, I was there for over 2 hours (most of the time wasted on the aptitude/personality test). They told me I would hear back from them the next day (for what? I'm not sure). Thus, my afternoon wasted, I went home and haven't heard back from them again. Not an experience I would repeat.
