The interview process at Columbia University for the Assistant Director role was structured and professional. It included multiple rounds with HR and department leaders, focusing on leadership, strategy, and collaboration skills. They emphasized alignment with the university’s mission, and I was asked about my experience managing teams, working cross-functionally, and handling high-level responsibilities. Overall, the interviewers were respectful and clear about expectations.

Four rounds HR screening zoom, meet the team zoom, then asked to prepare a presentation to present on zoom a third time, then asked to come in person to present to 2 hiring committees and individual interviews with the team hiring. I spent almost 5 hours there. Asked me during round 2 if I was interested in a position HR initially said had already been finalized. The position I was applying for was not crystal clear. HR sent a generic rejection email.

Met with an HR Director via Zoom. She was very polite, interview lasted an hour. She sent a thank you for my time and sharing my experiences email after I sent a thank you note.
