The first few rounds were quick and the people I spoke to were mostly pleasant. That said, their design hiring process felt outdated and not very ethical. The process wasn’t very clear throughout, and ultimately resulted in an automated rejection email. They required an unpaid take-home assignment that asked for an interactive prototype and a video walk-through, and a portfolio review of 2 case studies. The nature of the solution and the output format required far more than a few hours of work, which is exploitative. The prompt was prescriptive and the provided design file included linked components from their library. What is this meant to assess exactly? Generally, these days a behavioral interview and portfolio review are more than enough to assess a Senior level Designer’s skill.
