First call: HR - intro call - 30-minute conversation, straightforward. I was told that the process was going to be 3 calls total, then a reference check, and then the final step, offer approval from leadership.
Second Call: Hiring Manager call - 45 minutes. Behavioral questions and background.
Third Call (3 parts):
- 1 call with the head of sales - 45 minutes. Behavioral questions, sales background, and culture fit.
- 1 call with the head of HR - 45 minutes. Culture fit and background
- 1 call with a hiring manager - 45 minutes. Behavioral and situational questions.
I was told that I had been selected to move to the last stage of the process, which was the reference checks. After the reference checks were conducted, they said everything came back positive, and they were going to move forward to offer approval.
Up to this point, everything was exactly as I had been told.
I was then told a week later that I needed to meet with a new manager for a "Team Matching Interview".
Ultimately, 9 days later, they contacted me and said they weren't going to be moving forward with an offer, because of the "Team Matching Interview".
A misleading process, making you think that they will be sending in an offer, then adding an extra step to the previously discussed process, to then be told "no, thank you".
Process timeline:
- From the first call to the second call, 1 day.
- From the second call to the third call, 1 week.
- From the third call to asking for reference checks, 1 day.
- For them to check in with the references, 6 business days. 2 days later, a last, undiscussed interview.
After that interview, it took them 9 business days to get back to me.
