Received an email offering to participate in a technical challenge that typically takes applicants 2-3 weeks. The challenge consisted of three parts involving encryption, reading an encrypted file, and reverse engineering. It should be noted that this same test is used for the software engineer position. I completed the challenge and submitted it. I received an email back saying that my solution produced the correct output but there were issues with the code and my report for the reverse engineering was not what they were looking for. When I asked if there were any specific issues with my code/report so that I can work on that in the future, they ghosted me. Overall, not the greatest experience. They mentioned that they only accept about 1% of applicants, so you must be very confident in your coding ability as well as know what a proper reverse engineering report looks like before sinking in numerous hours to complete the challenge. I would give this a thumbs down but I at least learned a lot about Ghidra in doing this so I'll rate this as a neutral experience.
