I interviewed with Ciena for the role of Advanced Technical Support Specialist and the interview process lasted over an hour. The discussion was primarily focused on assessing overall fit, including questions about my current role, past experience and several scenario-based situations.
The interview itself was good and I felt I represented my experience clearly throughout the discussion. However, following the interview, I did not receive any update or final decision.
I waited over a month and followed up twice with the recruiter, but unfortunately received no response. Being completely ghosted by the recruiter after follow-ups was disappointing and left a negative impression of the experience.
While I understand that hiring processes can take time, basic communication or closure or even a rejection would have been appreciated after the time and effort invested.
