      Entrevista

I should have read the reviews more closely before interviewing with this place, it would have saved me hours of work and frustration. It's a shame because the mission of the company really spoke to me, but after my experience it soured any initial positive impression I had. First of all, who uses an actual IQ test to assess if candidates are qualified for a role? It's borderline discrimination if I'm being honest. I've interviewed at a Big 4 Tech company in the Bay Area and that interview process was not even remotely as difficult and ridiculous as this one was. Then there's the case study portion. I understand the value of assessing relevant skills for the role at hand, but this quite literally took me 10-12 hours over several days to complete. I'm not even joking. It was absurd. The prompts were fairly straightforward, but it was super tedious. I truly don't understand how they expect people already working full time jobs to complete this effectively. You then have to defend your decision making during the panel interview and they will pick apart ALL of your work, even it's it's mostly "correct." I felt like I escaped Fight Club after the interview, it was just unnecessarily intense. I didn't end up getting the job and honestly, thank god. I feel like I dodged a huge bullet. Even if I did get an offer, I was leaning towards rejecting it after this interview experience. I understand startups can be cutthroat with a churn and burn environment, but the culture here seems straight up toxic. Even some of the leaders I spoke with on the interview panel looked exhausted and burnt out. When I asked what they liked most about working at Charlie Health, they all had difficulty answering which was a red flag to me. I should add that the lack of tenure across the team was worrying, I think there were only 1 or 2 people that had been with the company longer than 6-12 months. Save yourself the trouble and don't bother applying here.
