Fairly conversational interview that contained fewer technical questions than normal. They offered me the position at the end. They said HR would be contacting me to begin onboarding. After a few days I followed up to ask about a timeline. I was told, "I'm sorry but we ended up having some changes come up with our budget and we wont be able to move forward at this time. I have saved your information for a future position if that changes. I apologize for the inconvenience." A recruiter later called me about working the same position as a temp. Out of curiosity, I told them to submit me. Nothing. After that, I found and ad for the same job they told me they no longer had the budget for. I feel like the budget issue was that the didn't realize how much the market rate for this position has changed and are trying to find someone they can underpay.
