The entire process was very chaotic and un-professionally organized. First of all, I got an interview call and was asked to show up at the company office in Berlin. I readily confirmed by availability for the same. The following day, I got an email stating that my interview will take place at Rostock instead of Berlin. I agreed to it as well and made arrangements for my travel and one-night stay at Rostock. I was told that my expenses will be reimbursed for the trip. Subsequently, I went to Rostock and reached the company premises on the stated date and time. The interview was very strange. I was told what the company expectations are, how you might have to work 6 days a week (which does not bother me too much) and what the company is upto. I was simply asked what I have been currently working on, no technical questions. Lastly, I was given a very brief tour of the facility and was told that I will hear from them in ~2 weeks.
I heard from them after 3 weeks and was told that I have not been successful. I wrote to the HR and asked her if she could arrange some feedback from my interview. This process took forever, finally she responded after 3 weeks and informed me that I seemed somewhat inflexible to the interview panel, so I was not considered a good candidate. This is suprising because I had agreed to work for 6 days a week and to shift teams if required. So I did not understand how I was considered rigid. Lastly, I asked the HR to kindly reimburse my travel expenses. This process took another 2 months. Clearly, she was waiting for me to give up on this but I did not.
