I went through the interview process which involved 5-6 rounds. C3AI contacted the 2 references I had provided. Usually a company does reference checks only when they are ready to hand the offer. In this case I was told I will have a final interview with the CEO. I was rejected after the CEO interview. It was a pleasant experience meeting several leaders in the company but thought it was very immature when the company decided to contact your references (two senior execs) before concluding all interviews wasting time.
