1.Sent in a resume and writing samples 2.Asked to write 5 pitches for stories that could be featured on the website 3.Asked to write one of the pitches 4.Two skype interviews 5.In-person interview with the CEO After going through an extensive interview process, including meeting the CEO in person, I had to email the company TWICE to get a response on my application. When I did, it was a single sentence saying I didn't get the job. I feel like if I had not emailed them as a follow-up they would've not even gotten back to me.

Interview process was very transparent and quick-moving, until suddenly, I was met with a cold auto-reject letter. When I followed up with my direct contacts from the hiring process, they gave me almost word-for-word the same vague canned response when I asked for more specific feedback about my candidacy. Extremely disappointing, especially considering I put a great deal of work into my interview assignment and preparing for multiple conversations. I would estimate I spent roughly six hours in total on this assignment plus preparing for the interviews, only to be met with this response. If you're going to preach transparency in a hiring process, please be willing to give candidates more specific feedback about their process when asked, especially if you're asking for their personal time and energy to complete relevant assignments.
