The first step in the hiring process was a brief phone interview with the Hiring Manager. This essentially consisted of the manager verifying that I was interested in moving forward in the process and scheduling an in-house interview for a week later. For my in-house interview I met with four different managers for 30 min each. All four were very nice and gave off the impression that Booz Allen is probably a pretty low-stress place to work. I really only had to answer a few basic behavioral questions between them, and nobody had any intention of "grilling" me at all. Before I left the Hiring Manager said that he would get back to me in about a week or two. A couple of days later the Hiring Manager called me up. He said that everyone I had interviewed with had given me positive reviews and they would like to bring me on the team...but they didn't currently have an opening in the position I had interviewed for. He said he would look out for similar positions that might be a good fit and that I should check back with him later. I was left a little confused as to why a company would interview for a position they did not have available and felt that maybe I wasn't overly keen on the position in the first place.
