It was handled through a recruiter who had some sort of back and forth dialogue with the CEO (according to the recruiter). It was about as unprofessional as you can get. The recruiter was clearly in a rush - and was trying to tease out qualifying information from me in a 3 minute phone call. A 30 year career distilled to 3 minutes. I suspect a lot of strong candidates were dismissed because of poor management of the recruiter base. I am not sure if the problem is the CEO, or the lack of clarity in the job description - but it spoke volumes about the company.
