Me postulé a través de un reclutador. Acudí a una entrevista en Block en abr 2014
Entrevista
I was contacted on LinkedIn. After a few chats with recruiter and hiring manager, I was asked to come in for a 3 hour interview session with slots of 1/2h with different people.
I was very disappointed with the lack of "bidirectional" interest. It felt as the only focus was to "sell" me on the Square cult, rather than find our if we liked each other and if my skillset was adequate for the position
Overall I left with a sense of arrogance from pretty much every person I talked to

They did not ask any non strictly skill/job related question
Me postulé a través de una recomendación de un empleado. El proceso tomó 7 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Block (Atlanta, GA) en feb 2022
Entrevista
I've interviewed with block 3 times for various BSA roles (referred each time). First with Cash App, I had calls with a recruiter, the hiring manager, a team meeting, and then a final panel interview. Everything went great until the final video call. The interviewer's connection was terrible and they kept saying they fixed it but I could barely hear anything. In each interview they talked about how they have almost no documentation. Second time was with Square 2 months later, this was just a mess. The recruiter didn't know anything about the role and waited 3 weeks to schedule my next interview by asking "are you still interested?" despite the previous reply was my schedule. The hiring manager was great, but the recruiter then told me that I had a SQL interview which turned out to be a MySQL interview. This was the worst interview I've ever had, a complete waste of time. Again in each interview they talked about how they have almost no documentation. Third was with Cash App 5 months later. I spoke with a recruiter, hiring manager, and then I had a meet and greet. My recruiter was fantastic and the call with the hiring manager was fine. What was initially a team meeting became meeting 2 team members and 2 other employees. The calls went fine, until the last call. The interviewer somehow both mumbled and was aggressive. I mentioned how the sql interview was my worst interview, but this was by far the most awkward and weird conversation I've ever had. In summary I think that interviewing at Block is a total toss-up. You could luck out, but with how many rounds and people, it's almost unavoidable that you'll encounter someone who has a vendetta against you.

What are your ethics? Why does your title have this word? Why do you want to work here (they will ask this as many times as humanly possible)
